Important information about the first days of school

Greetings, GLES Families,

We hope you are enjoying your summer!

As we prepare for the 2026–2027 school year, we would like to share important information about the first days of school.

This year, we are introducing a staggered start for our incoming kindergarten scholars to help make the transition to elementary school as smooth and successful as possible.

Monday, August 24

  • First day for Kindergarten scholars with last names A–L

  • First day for all scholars in Grades 1–5

     

Tuesday, August 25

  • First day for Kindergarten scholars with last names M–Z

  • All scholars in Grades 1–5 attend

Wednesday, August 26

  • All scholars attend

This staggered start provides our youngest scholars with additional time to become familiar with the building, daily routines, and school expectations before all scholars are together.
