🕺🏾✨ Last week’s Spirit Days were full of energy, learning, and celebration! Check out these pictures from Motown / Disco Day. 💃🏽🎶 We loved seeing our school community come together to celebrate culture, history, and pride! 💙🦁

🚌✨ Our 1st graders had an amazing trip to CMOR in Jan! Students participated in a Celebrations of Light lesson, before diving into hands-on, play-based learning at the museum’s interactive stations. 💡🎨 Such a joyful day of curiosity, exploration, and discovery! 💙🦁

🎧🎉 Our Silent DJ Party was the perfect celebration of students being Accountable, Safe, and Kind! While some danced the afternoon away, others enjoyed eSports and crafts in the same space — giving everyone a fun way to celebrate their positive choices. 💙🦁 So many smiles, great energy, and well-earned fun!

📘🔍 Our Kindergarten and 1st grade students are building big thinking skills! Using two different nonfiction books, they practiced comparing information by finding what was the same and different between topics like animals and cars. 🐾🚗 Early research skills in action — and lots of curious conversations along the way! 💙🦁

📚✨ We loved hosting author Judd Winick last week! He shared how writers get ideas, what the writing process is like, and inspired our students to see themselves as writers. ✍️💙 Thank you for sparking creativity and excitement around writing — what an unforgettable experience!

❄️➡️📚 We’re so happy to have our students back after a long snow day break! The building feels full again with laughter, friends reconnecting, and kids exploring, playing, and learning together in the library. 💙🦁 Nothing beats having our Lions back where they belong!

📚✨ 3rd grader students read about famous people, made connections by discovering shared interests, hobbies, and skills, and then crafted what they learned using Play-Doh. 🎨🧠 Such a creative way to build understanding, empathy, and meaningful connections through reading! 💙🦁

💻🎶 Our 4th graders are coding in creative ways! Students explored low-tech coding by designing hopscotch games and dances with step-by-step directions, then moved into high-tech coding to create digital games and music remixes. 🤖✨ From movement to technology, they’re building problem-solving skills and having a blast! 💙🦁

🦸♀️📚 Superhero stories are powering up learning at Glen Lea! Students used these action-packed tales to identify character traits, analyze author’s messages, and take on MakerSpace engineering challenges inspired by the stories. 💡🛠️ A perfect blend of literacy, critical thinking, and creativity — learning with a heroic twist! 💙🦁

📸🎉 More fun from our Photo Club exhibit! Students also set up a photo booth, capturing smiles, laughter, and school spirit from friends and staff across the building. These snapshots show not just great photography skills, but the joy and community our students helped create. 💙🦁

📚✨ January in the library was full of creativity, collaboration, and fun! Students explored new games, built and created together, expressed their imaginations through art, discovered new books, and even celebrated their PBIS points. 💡🎨 Every day brought new smiles, new ideas, and new ways to learn together. 💙🦁

📸✨ We’re so proud of our talented Photo Club students! They designed and led a special photo exhibit, sharing their own photographs with the school community. From planning the display to showcasing their creative vision, students took the lead every step of the way. 💡🖼️

🏃♂️✨ Shoutout to our morning running club and these four awesome students who took their miles beyond school! In December, they participated in a local Tacky Light Run, spreading holiday cheer while staying active. 🎄💡 Now in January, we’re still celebrating their dedication, perseverance, and love of movement — way to go, Lions! 💙🦁

🔍✨ Our 2nd graders are exploring light, color, and creativity by making their own kaleidoscopes! Through this hands-on project, students experimented, problem-solved, and created beautiful patterns they could see in motion. 🌈💡 Learning is even more fun when curiosity leads the way! 💙🦁

🧚♂️📚 Our 1st graders dove into a fairy tale project to deepen their understanding of characters! Working in groups, students created puppets, buttons, and voting posters, then took part in a Best Character contest — convincing others why their character deserved the vote. 🗳️✨

🍽️🌟 Way to go, 3rd grade Lions! These students earned enough PBIS points through being Accountable, Safe, and Kind to enjoy a special lunch with Principal Gordon 💙🦁 We’re so proud of their positive choices and hard work — keep leading by example! 👏✨

📚✨ Last month in the library was full of creativity, curiosity, and hands-on learning! Students designed and wrapped gifts, explored math concepts through games, tackled MakerSpace challenges like building ways to stay warm, and brought their own imaginative ideas to life. 💡🎁 So many smiles, so much learning — we love seeing our library come alive! 💙🦁

☕📚 Our kindergarten students brought The Little Red Hen to life! After reading the story, they practiced teamwork and cooperation by working together to make hot cocoa. 🐔✨ A sweet way to learn about helping others, sharing responsibility, and enjoying the results together! 💙🦁

🤖🔥 Every December brings our annual Battle Bots Challenge! Led by our ILC, students across all grade levels designed, built, and tested their bots — learning teamwork, problem-solving, and perseverance along the way. The excitement was high and the learning even higher! 💙🦁

🌟👏 Big congratulations to our 3rd and 4th grade Lions who earned the most points in December for being Accountable, Safe, and Kind! Your positive choices, leadership, and hard work truly shine and set a great example for others. Keep it up — we’re so proud of you! 💙🦁
